it's delightful...it's delicious...it's dawesome

As we are an Anglo American family I wanted to remember our British brother’s who have laid down their lives in the cause of freedom. So, in honor of them here is ” The Soldier”, by Rupert Brooke.

goodness, he was handsome!

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there’s some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England’s, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,

Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

    Thank you, Eliza dear, for your words and images — for sharing your insights, enthusiasms, your happinesses and memories. You do us a service. You have done one for me this morning as I came to see what I might find here today — what morsel of hope and light. We named you right. You are a gift from God.

    I love the picture of Nan and Dan Dan. It’s so cute and lovely. I also think the little parade looked wonderful. Glad it was a good day despite the dead refrigerator.
